Scholar and erudite friend of the Forum Sumpter Priddy will present an exploration and analysis of his new research into cultural objects from the 18th 19th centuries rural American south and inland territories. He will address how the predominance of Scots and Irish immigrants and their interpretations of freedom gave structure to cultural, political and philosophical trends of the time and today.
